Welcome to Infection Prevention and Control, presented by St. Patrick’s Home of Ottawa.
This e-learning course covers the why infection control is important, the common infections that need to be managed and the standard precautions that should be taken. As well as the practical aspect of infection control, there is also a focus on the policies, procedures, systems, and laws that care professionals must be aware of.
This self-paced course is includes case studies, simulations, narration, video and questions. You must achieve a minimum of 80% on each module’s Final Quiz in order to receive a certificate of completion.
The e-learning course is available online 24/7 and can be accessed from any computer – no special software or hardware is required. You can use a computer, tablet or smartphone. It is best to have an up-to-date browser.
The course consists of the following modules:
Module 1 – The Chain of Infection
Module 2 – IPAC While Supporting Residents at Mealtime
Module 5 – IPAC While Administering Medication
