On September 27th, St. Patrick’s Home celebrated Indigenous Awareness Day by tasting traditional foods, learning about Canadian Indigenous leaders, clothing and music, and appreciating artwork created by our residents.

Paul Harris, Manager of Support Services, was the chef for the event.  He collaborated with Monique Patterson, St. Patrick’s Vice President Nursing, who is Ojibwe. Her mother, a residential school survivor, shared her treasured bannock recipe for the awareness day.  They broke traditional fried bread with residents, colleagues, and traditional dancers.
